The art of Krassy Halatchev, known by his artistic moniker Icicle, is a vibrant and multifaceted exploration of music and its power to transcend boundaries. Born and raised in communist Bulgaria, Krassy's formative years were spent immersed in the music of iconic bands like Pink Floyd, Genesis, and The Clash. Inspired by their innovative sounds and rebellious spirit, he embarked on a lifelong journey of musical discovery.Krassy's path took him from the underground music scene in Bulgaria to the frozen streets of Montreal in 1990. Together with his bandmates from The Clouds, he faced the challenges of a new environment and embraced the 90s psychedelic rock scene with fervor. The band's experiences performing in subways and clubs, along with their album releases, garnered significant attention and solidified Krassy's dedication to his craft.In 1996, Krassy joined Chiwawa, a band that would further shape his artistic trajectory. Collaborating with renowned producer Steve Whitfield, their debut album "The Sick World of Yona" captured the imagination of the media and showcased Krassy's evolving talents as a composer and vocalist. Over the years, he became an integral member of Chiwawa, contributing to seven albums that showcased his ability to seamlessly blend rock, pop, and funk elements into a genre-defying sound.In 2012, Krassy ventured into a new phase of his artistic expression with his debut solo album, "Anamnesis." This opus of twelve carefully crafted compositions serves as a gateway between the past and the future, encapsulating the wisdom gained from his musical journey and the dreams that lie ahead. With his second album, "Politics" released in 2013, Icicle solidified his position as a master of his craft, fearlessly blending diverse musical elements to create a fresh and innovative sound that defies categorization.Through his music, Icicle invites the audience to embark on a sonic voyage, where boundaries dissolve, and genres intertwine.
