Her Sister
New Zealand-born, half-Chilean, Montreal-living synth-pop duo Her Sister are two sisters with enough quirkiness to charm a room. They do it all. As independent artists they take charge with a power-house spirit that certainly gets things done.

À propos de l'événement
After releasing their debut EP Those London Days in early 2018, Her Sister have had their eyes set on new skylines; together writing and producing their debut album Retrospect/ Prospect, slated for release early 2020.
Their EP Those London Days had radio play in both Australia and the UK and their first single Electric was a semifinalist in the pop and music video categories in the 2017 UK Songwriting Contest. Headlining the Evolution Festival at the Lyric Hammersmith, London Red Cross’ annual Red Shoe Walk and Raw Montreal at The Rialto, Her Sister have developed a live show that is all about connecting with their audience and having fun.
Coming from a multi-cultural family, the sisters grew up surrounded by different styles of music and were always encouraged to write their own. Their songs are autobiographical, and as avid travellers they love to be inspired by the places they visit.
Always looking at things from a unique perspective, their lyrics are humorous, punchy and very real. Their music speaks to their heritage, lightly infusing Latin sounds and rhythms into their dreamy, chilled-out synth-pop tracks. They often get told their songs are earworms, sticking in heads for days on end.
Her Sister’s first single No One Will Like You. is a sassy commentary on the destructive nature of ‘takers.’ The song is an unapologetic bop, declaring “if you keep acting this way, acting this way, no one will like you.”
As characterised in this first single, the sisters’ tracks are all about looking back at life in retrospect. About first loves and betrayals. About finding joy again and dancing on tables in rainstorms. Of knowing the best days are yet come and that these are happy prospects.
And about sisterhood, of course.
